They celebrate Lubavitcher holidays at Yeshivat Hakotel ??
Its not celebrated as a holiday. They definately respect and learn from all kosher streams of judaism and therefore marked the occasion with a nice tish. Rav Elon has always been very close to many chassidic streams, notably Chabad and Breslov.

Having a 'tish' and singing sure sounds like celebrating to me.

What are his roots? For some reason I think he is from Yekke descent. What does he do to reflect that mesora ?
haha I meant, they had still said tachanun and all on these days..
I am unsure of the exact mesora he comes from but I also think it is Yekke. He practices an all-encompassing Judaism though in the spirit of Rav Kook (who was inspired by both mitnagdim and chassidim).
When I said he was close to those movements, I meant he often refers to their teachings in his shiurim as well as refered to them affectionately on many occasions.
